Extreme Couponing

In this economy, everyone can afford to save a little money! I’ve recently been checking out websites that offer grocery store coupons, since food is what I spend the most money on. Coupon Mom is one of the best FREE coupon websites out there. It has been featured on Oprah, The Today Show, The Early Show, The Nightly News, CNN and Good Morning America.

Becoming a member of Coupon Mom is free, and when you sign up, you have instant access to free, printable coupons that are updated daily, their online grocery coupon database with Sunday newspaper coupons by region and their Weekly Best Deals Lists for over 40 grocery chains and 7 national stores like Wal-Mart, Target, CVS Walgreens, Kmart, Dollar General and Rite Aid.

Couponing used to be looked at in a negative way, but it’s now becoming a trend, thanks to shows like Extreme Couponing. Has anyone watched that show? I find it so interesting and I envy the people on it because they save so much money!! Are you, or would you ever become, an extreme coupon-er?

Money savings tips

With the economy in its current state, it seems like everyone could use some tips to save money. Here are a couple of things you can do to save a few bucks!

1. Carpool with friends. Gas is so expensive these days that it takes up a good chunk out of our budget! Meeting some friends for lunch or the movies? Take turns picking each other up. You’d be surprised by how much money you can save.

2. Do you know that you can get cash for your books? Go online to cash4books.net and type in the books’ ISBN numbers (you can find the ISBN numbers on the back cover or on the copyright page in the front of the book). The website allows you to print out a prepaid mailing label, so all you have to do is pack up the books and send them. You don’t pay a cent. It should take a few days to receive a check it the mail or a deposit to your PayPal account if you have one.

3. Are you paying for name brand prescriptions? Choose a generic brand over the name brand and save some cash. Also, filling your prescription at Wal-Mart, Target and Kmart offer a month’s supply for as little as $4 or a 90-day supply for $10-$15.

4. Even save on your vacations. Websites like frommers.com and fodors.com offer tips on how to get discounted rates at popular attractions and free events all over the world.
